Allegiant Air Relocates At Nashville Airport As New Concourse Opens

Allegiant established an aircraft base at Nashville International Airport in 2020, where it bases three Airbus A320-family aircraft and 66 employees. Allegiant Air will move to the newly opened satellite concourse at Nashville International Airport (BNA) in Tennessee on Oct. 21, setting the stage for the airline's next phase of growth. The new eight-gate facility is located off of the airport’s C Concourse and comes on the heels of the launch of the new six-gate international arrivals facility. Allegiant CEO Doug Kreulen stated that the move will allow the airline to offer a more robust schedule of flights and opportunities for future expansion at BNA. ULCC Allegiant Air will move to the newly opened satellite concourse at Nashville International Airport (BNA) in Tennessee on Oct. 21, which the carrier says sets “the stage for the airline's next phase of growth at BNA.”

The new satellite concourse is a free-standing, eight-gate facility located off of the airport’s C Concourse. The 89,000-ft.2 concourse’s opening comes on the heels of the September launch of the airport’s new six-gate international arrivals facility.

BNA CEO Doug Kreulen says in a statement that the opening of the satellite concourse “is a milestone for BNA as we continue to work to accommodate the exponential growth we're experiencing while simultaneously enhancing the passenger experience."

Las Vegas-based Allegiant started serving BNA in 2018 and established an aircraft base at the airport in 2020. It bases three Airbus A320-family aircraft and 66 employees at BNA.

Allegiant says the move from the B Concourse to the satellite concourse “will allow the leisure travel-focused carrier to offer a more robust schedule of flights that includes opportunities for future expansion at BNA. Allegiant passengers will also be able to enjoy the amenities the new facility offers, such as expanded seating areas and dining and vendor options, while waiting for their flights.”

Drew Wells, Allegiant's chief revenue officer and senior vice president of planning and revenue, says the new concourse gives the airline more flexibility, adding: "Nashville is a key part of our network, and this added capacity and new infrastructure will give us opportunity for even more future convenient and affordable travel options at BNA."

Allegiant serves 31 cities from BNA, including seasonal service. Nineteen of the routes are exclusive to Allegiant, which will open service between BNA and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from Nov. 16, its latest route from the airport. Allegiant had a 2.7% passenger market share at BNA for the full-year 2022.

Southwest Airlines was the leading carrier at the airport in 2022 with a 53.7% share, with American Airlines in second place at 16%.
